HAMPSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
Please note: Due to the remit of this role to provide services/personal care to vulnerable women, and hence the sensitive nature of the work, only female applicants can be considered for this post, in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Requirement (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1, Paragraph 1).
Choose a career with HCC Care and join our friendly, committed and supportive team, playing a crucial role in supporting adults, as part of the largest care provider in Hampshire.
Here at Hindson House, we provide an 8 bed respite service for adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and/or sensory impairments. We are a small, dedicated team with a commitment to ensuring people experience a meaningful short break when they come to stay. We recognise each resident as an individual with differing needs, so you’ll provide a person-centred approach, ensuring Hindson House is a home away from home. As a Night Care Assistant, no two nights will be the same. The role is both varied and rewarding and everything you do will support our aim to provide outstanding physical and emotional care to residents, offering high standards of hygiene and safety for all.
You may already have experience of enabling or providing care, but it’s not essential. For these vital roles what’s most important is your life experience, rather than work experience. You’ll need strong observational skills to monitor resident’s mental and physical health, responding quickly and appropriately to verbal and non-verbal signs. The wellbeing and safety of residents will be at the forefront of all your decisions and supported by your excellent communication skills and compassionate approach. You’ll feel comfortable assessing and evaluating situations during the night and deciding how to respond.
In return, we’ll provide support, training and development, to ensure you can enjoy a fulfilling career in social care. The work can be challenging, but the rewards are beyond measure. Our residents are at the heart of everything we do. If you think you could make a positive contribution and can demonstrate empathy and understanding, we’d love to hear from you.
In return, we are committed to your continued personal development and offer an extensive Benefits Package. Values Based Recruitment:
We recruit for attitudes and values in Adults’ Health and Care. We invite you to evidence how you demonstrate the 4 core values we hold in your application.
The 4 core values are:
• Person Centred: Has a person centred and strengths-based approach that empowers service users and carers to live independent lives.
• Resilience: Successfully manages change and develops and maintains their wellbeing and resilience.
• Accountable: Takes responsibility for work, actions and development; and acknowledges individual and shared accountability.
• Works Together: Builds supportive internal and external working relationships through positive communication and constructive feedback.
