Birmingham Parent Carer Forum is a voluntary group of Birmingham Parent Carers whose purpose is to become the bridge between services and families and a collective voice representing all members and all disabilities. We aim to build strong and sustainable links between our Local authority, Joint Clinical Commissioning Group and The Children’s Trust.
We are currently seeking a Participation Coordinator
Location: Home-working (with outreach and hot-desking as required)
Terms: 35 hours per week (Monday – Friday 10am-2pm core hours with remaining hours delivered via flexible working, by mutual agreement) Evening and weekend flexible working may sometimes be required
Salary: £28, 485
Responsible to: Chair of the BPCF Management Committee
Term: One year Fixed Term Contract (with a possibility of extending)
This exciting role will require the successful candidate to ensure the smooth running of Birmingham Parent Carer Forum (BPCF) on a day-to-day basis and to work closely with the organisation’s Chair and Management Committee to promote the work of the organisation to parent carers, Birmingham City Council (BCC), the Birmingham CCGs, other local NHS Health agencies, and other stakeholders.
You will support the Chair of the Management Committee to effectively run BPCF by attending BPCF Management Committee meetings, working closely with other project co-ordinators and develop an understanding of other projects (including work stream projects) and proving administrative support to the group.
You will have an understanding of the needs of parents/carers of children and young people with additional needs or disability and identify gaps and opportunities to improve services for this group and inform relevant agencies.
The successful candidate will be the initial point of contact for BPCF, as well as contributing to the development and delivery of communication plans for BPCF, maintaining and expanding BPCF’s membership and ensuring that parent representatives are supported to attend and contribute to decision-making/strategic meetings.
You will have the ability to lead and take responsibility within an organisation, be able to communicate using appropriate methods and have great organisation skills.
